A tour of this highly successful reuse program gave club members a firsthand view of a wonderful alternative to landfilling reusable resources.
Alley Pond Environmental Center A tour of their 625 acres of woodlands and marshes taught club members about water/wetlands conservation
Tabling
Club members providing CCNY community members with information on waste prevention, recycling, global climate change, water and electrical conservation. Tabling will be an ongoing activity.
Conferences:
Greening the Campus Conference
SCCNY Club members attended this two-day conference sponsored by the Environmental Consortium of the Hudson Valley Colleges and Universities; and found it very useful for the development of the club.
Lectures:
NYC’s Waste Prevention Initiatives
A speaker from the NYC Department of Sanitation spoke about their recycling and waste prevention programs, as well as outreach/education efforts targeting NYC’s residents, businesses, and public institutions.
